GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
VITEX Metallico is a water-based paint, based on specific acrylic resins and metallic pigments, formulated specially in order to provide an impressive metallic finish on every surface. It can be applied onto walls, pillars, ceilings, plasterboards as well as wood, plastic or metal, after proper preparation, as a decorative break-through. The unique aesthetic result is not the only feature of VITEX METALLICO; due to its capacity to reflect the infra-red

radiation (IR), it provides for buildings heat insulation. As a result, walls painted with VITEX METALLICO contribute in the maintenance of a steady temperature within a space acting as a natural air-condition. Virtually odourless during its application, since it does not contain ammonia or any other dangerous substances, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, free formaldehyde, heavy metals or alkylphenolethoxylates.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces to be painted must be smooth, clean and dry, free from dust, grease and loose or flaking paint. Use VITEX's ACRYLIC PUTTY to fill any cracks or holes. New surfaces made of plaster, concrete, cement, stucco, rendering, plasterboard should be primed with ACRYLAN UNCO ECO (micronize acrylic silicone water-based primer), VITEX's 100% ACRYLIC PRIMER (water-based) or DUROVIT (transparent solvent-based primer). Surfaces previously covered with water paints or distempers (i.e. lime wash or ceiling white) should be primed with DUROVIT or VITOSIN. Wood, PVC, aluminum and galvanized steel surfaces should first de coated with either water-based VELATURA or Primer for Metallic Surfaces. Metallic surfaces should be coated with an antirust primer (VITEX's Anti-Rust Primer or Red Lead Primer).

COLOURS
VITEX Metallico can be used as it is in 3 shades: 500 Pandora (silver), 520 Helios (gold) and 530 Selene (bronze). 500 Pandora can be used as a base paint for the preparation of 30 selected shades (Vitex Metallico colour-card) through VITEX's Tinting System Colorfull.

FEATURES

Drying :  It is touch dry after 1-2 hours, depending on atmospheric  conditions.

Recoatability Time :  It can be recoated after 6-8 hours, depending on atmospheric conditions.

Spreading Rate : 10 - 12 m2 / L per coat on properly prepared surfaces.

Thinning : Apply directly or dilute up to 5% with water when applying by brush or roller. To apply by spray gun, dilute 5 - 10% with water.
